Project kickoffs

Project kickoff meeting notes.

A kickoff sets the scope, the sign-off and the first deadlines. When it isn’t written down, “payments were out of scope” becomes a disagreement in month three, with nothing to point to.

What it does

What Scripta handles for you

Three jobs that usually fall to whoever took the notes.

Scope written down

In and out of scope are recorded as decisions with the line they came from.

First tasks, owned

Access requests, wireframes and environments come out as tasks with owners and dates.

One place for the project

Put the kickoff and every meeting after it in one Space, and see what’s at risk.

Kickoff: customer portal project

The first release of the customer portal will cover invoices, support requests and account settings, with portal payments excluded for now, and is targeted for the end of April with check-ins every Tuesday. Design sign-off sits with Laura Jensen plus one review from the client's operations lead, and if billing-system API access is not available by the 28th the team will start with support requests and defer invoices.

Questions

What people ask first

What should a kickoff meeting cover?

The goal, what’s in and out of scope, who signs off, the first milestone, the first tasks and the main risks.

Does a bot join the call?

No. Nothing of Scripta’s joins your call. You record from your browser, or bring the transcript your call tool or recorder already makes.

Can the client see the kickoff notes?

Yes, with a share link. They need no account.

Does Scripta connect to our project tool?

No. Copy tasks across, or export them as CSV.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan needs no card and includes AI write-ups and recording minutes every month. Paid plans add more of both, and seats for a team.

Whatever your team, the same promises

Nothing joins your call.

Nothing of Scripta’s ever joins your call. Record in your browser, or bring the transcript you already have.

Decisions keep their source.

Every decision and task is checked against the line it came from, so you can see where it was said.

Your team, your access.

Four roles, enforced on the data. Share a write-up with a client by private link and passcode.
